A Highland cow in soft pastels

Not yet rated(0)

I’m really excited to share the first Upper Sheringham class for June — we’ll be drawing a beautiful Highland cow in soft pastels.

Think flowing, fluffy hair, those wonderfully textured horns catching the sunlight, and all the little details that bring personality to life. It’s a relaxed, friendly day with plenty of guidance, and you’ll head home with a piece you’ll be genuinely proud to frame (or sell!).

We’ll be working from the reference image shown — I absolutely love it and hope you do too — but as always, you’re very welcome to bring your own image if you’d prefer.

📍 Venue: Upper Sheringham Village Hall, Upper Sheringham
📅 Date: Friday 26th June, 9.30am – 4pm
💷 Price: £75 (includes all materials, a gorgeous lunch, plus refreshments & light bites throughout the day)

What you’ll learn:

By the end of the day, you’ll feel much more confident with:

  • Creating soft, wispy fur that looks touchable
Building layers to achieve depth and that lovely 3D effect
Rendering realistic horns with smooth texture and striking highlights
Choosing and developing backgrounds that elevate your artwork
Combining soft pastels and pastel pencils for richer results
Capturing character and expression so your subject really comes alive

I’d absolutely love to see you there — it’s shaping up to be a really special day.

Any questions at all, just drop me a message!
