Oh I loved drawing Negra! I met this wonderful little girl at AKIRA animal sanctuary, a few days after she had been abandoned there, aged 11. She was super sweet and cuddly and although she didn’t understand what she was doing there, she was so polite and loving to everyone. I’m so happy to say that although it was worrying that at her age she could end up being left at the sanctuary, some very kind hearted family came along and snapped her up. She will now see out her twilight years with them and I couldn’t be happier for her.

Negra was drawn using my usual coloured pencils on drafting film – in fact, it was my first drawing on drafting film as it was a new surface for me. Suffice to say by the end of her portrait I was hooked!
